The fourth birthday of Agnijaat was on 17th July! The annual issues were received and read, the critiques are out!

The ezine starts with reminder of upcoming Mahalaya, there is a malmas or a month in which there won’t be any auspicious activity after Mahalaya, so Durgapuja will happen in end October. I don’t recollect it happening ever before.

Indie Author Speaks 15: Genuine booklovers are vanishing from India, most probably the mindset of Indians has changed or they just picked up the habit from British. After all, had Indians been fond of reading books there would have been books in India. Lot more in no. before British showed up.

FTQFS: Let the world be, precisely, no matter how much we wish or try we rarely can change others, so, as long as they are not harming, meddling let them be.

Techbabble: Agreed again! If one checks out the critiques of different things one thing is crystal clear, a huge percentage are from paid critiques.

Corona diaries and Kolkata blues: The failure to take necessary steps was the first step of worthlessness of the government, they are now proving they are not only incompetent but remorseless monsters. When the country is dying for medical facilities these ghouls are building temples and celebrating that by decorating the city with light!

SOS: Liars certainly sometimes convince themselves that they are saints or victims or innocent.

Intriguing Tales: This one should be a lesson to copycats! If you copy someone too well you may attract his/her enemies too!

History of India: Interesting part about why only few cities are more than few centuries old.

My Pen: Migrant lives matter: We do love to scream hoarse about injustice that has happened in other countries, but say nothing about the things that is happening around us. In our own country.

Fun and Frolic section:

The shearer by Pat Ritter: This one sounds like a nice story again.

SBPnB Book 8 Desert and Rain: Sounds like a beautiful book with lots of illustrations. Maybe, I will ask for these books in return of critique.

Pikatron February 2019 critique by Editor: Will have to get the newsletter from Agni.

Top ten books: Well, have read few of ten favorite books of the author, will check out the rest.

Indian Raga Now:

Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan- He was a great singer, there is no doubt about that, heard a few in YouTube, will check out more.

Helen- The dancing diva of Hindi movies, no one can snatch that title from her.

Twilight Saga: Have heard so much about this series that I will certainly check out a few episodes in YouTube.

Shraban Shot: Four beautiful shots, maybe Agni should add a few more from the next issue onwards.

Youtube channel: Already checked them all out.

Storytime: Sednians from Patreon: Great story, yes, the aliens should be scared of human race. The way we treat earth is despicable.

Dahi Handi: Watched a few hindi movie songs about this festival, it needs a lot of acrobatic and balancing skill.

Theme: Leprechauns- cute set of paintings.

The cartoon Mr Stick: Hope that was temporary, the last thing one will like during lockdown is horrible things going outside the house. It is quite interesting how governments allow chickens to be slaughtered in residential areas.

In the end quite enjoyed the Ezine, and its colourful sketches/paintings especially they are refreshing and pretty!

That is it I guess! See you again next month, and thank you Agni/Sharmishtha for translating my works!

Yours sincerely,
Labanya
